Wild Paddle is a community driven site. There are operating expenses associated with any website and the advertisements help to cover these expenses. Wild Paddle believes in openness, transparency, and sharing. If you have questions about the direction, operation, or goals of Wild Paddle please feel free to ask.
The Best Part
You can be an active owner of Wild Paddle by coming aboard and join the revenue sharing program that Wild Paddle has to offer. It's a way that you can take a vested interest in the growth, accuracy, and services that Wild Paddle has to offer.
How Does This Work?
Revenue sharing is easy. First you need to have an account on Wild Paddle, sign up or login. Second you need to
. Third you need to put your Adsense ID into your profile. Fourth, start creating qualifying content. Fifth, earn revenue.
- Sign in or Sign up for an account on Wild Paddle
- (this is free, no obligation).
- Update your Wild Paddle profile with your Google Adsense id
- Start creating content on Wild Paddle.
- Start earning 50% of the revenue generated from your content.
How Much Can I Earn?
Good question. No one is going to get rich on Wild Paddle. You will earn 50% of the revenue generated from clicks on the ads of the content you create. It all depends if someone sees a relevant ad that is displayed on your page and clicks on it.
Hint
Increase your chances of generating clicks on your pages by linking from other websites to your articles and campsites on Wild Paddle.
What Kind of Content Generates Revenue?
Right now the kinds of content that generate revenue are Articles and Campsites. Articles are informational stories, or write ups, or advice that people would want to read (of course having to do with the outdoors). Campsites are just that, official campsites in the BWCA. When you create a campsite it allows people to rate it and comment on it.
Ratings, comments, and forum posts do not generate revenue.
How Does It Work (Technically)?
Ads are pulled from Google when the page loads. Google serves up ads that are relevant to the website and the content on that particular page, so the ads usually have much in common with the information on the page. These ads use Javascript to fetch the ads. Included in this Javascript is a variable that has your Google Adsense ID so that Google knows who to credit with the click revenue. Wild Paddle randomly serves up either its own Google Adsense ID or your Google Adsense ID. It's a 50/50 chance that your ID will be served, so the split will not be a perfect 50% of click revenue, but the ads with your Google Adsense ID will be shown 50% of the time. So it's possible that you could generate more from the page than Wild Paddle, and visa versa.
Warning!
Google tracks click fraud and is very good at detecting it. Click fraud would include clicking on your own ads, prompting others to click on your ads or worst of all, setting up a program to click on the ads for you. IT'S NOT WORTH IT! Google will close your account and you will be banned from their program and if Wild Paddle is made aware of this, then you will be banned from Wild Paddle as well. Wild Paddle is not a get rich quick scheme, it's a community, and we thank you for respecting that.
Warning!
At Wild Paddle we are very interested in relevant and accurate information for our visitors. Relevant meaning things that pertain to the BWCA, outdoor living, gear, and anything that contributes to the goals of the community. Accurate meaning the information is as close to perfect as can be expected with the tools at hand. Thank you for your attention to detail.
