Fourtown Lake #2

Fourtown Lake USFS #2
Estimated Tent Pads: 4

This is a very nice campsite that sits at a point where Fourtown joins with another smaller lake (part of Fourtown?). It sits above a slight rapids from one lake to another; it is along the trail for people coming over from Horse Lake and you will see people coming through. It was described to us as a problem, but the natural beauty of the site and the cascading water nearby outway the limited traffic. And, even though we all appreciate the isolation of the BWCA, it is enjoyable talking with others passing by. But I digress, the campsite is on a granite point that is good for bass fishing - drop a line at the base of the cascading water and let it drift with the flow until it is hit by a bass. The rocky point has the firepit with room for many, the tent area is back away in the trees (not far, 30 feet or so) and creates a nice separation between the firepit and "bedrooms". I would definitely look for this site when I go back in the future.
