Crab Lake (Cook) #17
| Crab Lake (Cook) | USFS #17 |
This site is located on Crab Lake (Entry #4), on the eastern side of the lake.
The site occupies the east side of a small island which is separated from the mainland by a 10' stretch of 2' deep water.
Very nice southern exposure, good fire/cooking area with seating for at 8-9 people.
Large tent pads, with good bear-bagging trees.
An area to the east of the fire ring is perfect for landing canoes (wet-foot, anyway).
Westerly breezes keep bugs away and campfire smoke blowing away from the tents.
This site has plenty of room to spread out, which may be especially useful for larger groups.
This small island is perfect for kids to explore while remaining safe and "unlost".
