I just bought a Gription at my local backpacking store.

I really like it as my other cap tore after hanging it from a backpack via a carabiner. The Gription screws on the top of the Nalgene bottle and solves the "missing handle" problem on the Nalgene.
It also locks open or locks closed, is easy to clean, and looks to be quite durable.
Make sure you get the version two of this Gription. According to this guy

The version two has improved locking.
About $12.

A little pricy, that is more
Friday April 27th 2007A little pricy, that is more than the bottle itself. The little inserts in the top of the bottle seem to do the trick from keeping the liquid from slopping in your face.
Design needs work
Tuesday August 14th 2007I've used one of these Griptions for a while and even though they have improved the trigger / lock for this it still needs work. The lock is starting to get lose, where a little tap in the right direction will unlock it.
The construction is rugged and it seems the only way to get a decent handle for the indestructable nalgene bottle.
I just use the little
Tuesday January 29th 2008I just use the little siliconized rubber inserts into the mouth of the nalgene. It doesn't solve the handle problem, but I've been thinking of maybe mounting some heavy strap onto the bottle. The site http://www.thistothat.com/ suggests using 3M 77 to glue plastic to fabric. I might give that a try.
Is this the end of our
Tuesday April 29th 2008Is this the end of our favorite Nalgene bottles? Looks like Canada is declaring BPA toxic. Nalgene is voluntarily discontinuing production of bottles with that material.
BPA is the essential material for making the bottles hard and clear.
