I'd like to take eggs on my trip, but not sure if they will keep more than a day or so. Does anyone keep eggs (powered?) or some other way to have a nice breakfast 3-4 days into the trip?
Thanks ahead of time.

Farm Fresh
Monday June 4th 2007Farm fresh eggs (have not been refrigerated) will keep for several days, up to a week I think. The only drawback is keeping those eggs from cracking, but you can pack them in a nalgene with rice or popcorn seeds, killing two birds with one stone (pun intended).
Another way that works for a couple days (2-3) is crack a bunch of eggs in a nalgene so it's 3/4 full. Then freeze it, keep it as cold as you can. Don't fill it all the way as the eggs expand when they freeze. Not even a nalgene can stop ice from expanding. By day two, the eggs are liquid again so I wouldn't stretch them too far. You can try insulating the nalgene as well to keep them frozen longer.
Nalgene
Sunday June 24th 2007I have read that putting those farm fresh eggs in a nalgene filled with flower works well. The flower will keep them from cracking, and insulate them a bit.So many lakes so little time
