This is a great book for Minnesotans. For each bird the book has great pictures, excellent information, and even other birds that look like it. A must have for birding in Minnesota. In the back it has a checklist of all the birds in the book so you can keep track of the ones you've seen.
Caveat: It doesn't have a listing for the Great Gray Owl, which I have personally seen in my back yard. It was sitting on a five foot post in my back field during the day and I was able to walk up within 10 feet of him and he didn't fly away. Poor eye sight? Poor Hearing? No fear? Not sure, but I didn't try to hide my presence.
